Spanish lessons today focused on the days of the week.

The older children were also introduced to the months of the year.

The sound of the week id "p".

I received the most fabulous surprise today!  Over the weekend, Gus painted this picture for me to hang in the classroom.  I LOVE it!!!  Thank you Gus, you are so talented.

Robert's dad returned from a business trip to Columbia over the weekend and brought some souvenirs home. A mask, bracelet, money and a tortoise shell box.  What a fantastic sharing!

Wednesday, January 14th

Robert's family bought the class a fun pomegranate tool to easily remove the juicy pods.

Here are the instructions for the new food work.

I sliced the pomegranate in preparation for the work.

Robert demonstrated the tool for the class by placing the pomegranate face down on the tool.

Next, he covered it with the rubber dome.

The pods carefully fell to the bottom ready for eating.

Claire, Matthew and Avantika enjoy eating pomegranates.
