Thursday, March 19th

Claire is working with Cards and Counters.  She is placing the numbers in counting order across the top of her rug.

Continued use of this material strengthens her counting skills, number recognition, sense of order and understanding of greater than and lesser than quantities.  The placement of the discs also reveals odd and even quantities.

Night School

Monday, March 16th

Today was our last Spanish lesson.

The names of pieces of clothing were reviewed.

To reinforce what they have learned, a fun Bingo game was played using the Spanish names and picture prompts.

The older children took turns standing up and naming the clothing that they were wearing today using Spanish.

A song was used to review the Spanish names of the parts of our face. 

The xylophone with music was introduced today as a group lesson.

Tuesday, March 10th

Claire is phonetically building short vowel words by dictation in preparation for reading the book "Max".

Claire is tracing the words that she built today to take home.

Friday, March 6th

Claire is using a hole punch to make small paper trains.

Claire is making a collage with the figures that she created with the paper punch.
